Dr Evangelia Prokopiou is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Northampton. Her key area of teaching and research interest focuses on dialogical self theory, the impact of immigration and cultural change on identities, families and communities and on the constructions of diverse, \u2018non-normative\u2019 childhoods (including separated child migrants and child language brokers).<\/p>\n

She is particularly interested in exploring the ways children and young people with multiple cultural affiliations construct and negotiate their identities in culturally diverse settings. This interest has led Evangelia to become involved in a number of projects such as the Nuffield Foundation funded project on Child Language Brokering at School (2012-13) and the Horizons 2020 CHILD-UP project (ongoing) focusing on the social conditions of migrant children\u2019s integration through social participation.<\/p>\n

In 2009, she led a 3-month psychosocial intervention for unaccompanied asylum seeking young people and professionals at a Refugee Reception Centre in Greece. Evangelia is the lead of the Diversity, Community and Identity (DCI) research group of the Psychology and Social Sciences Research Centre in the Faculty of Health and Society and Chair of the Undergraduate Psychology Ethics Committee at the University of Northampton.<\/p>\nEvangelia is:<\/br>\n
